Welcome
The
Jewish Community Council of Canarsie is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit
agency that acts as the community’s trusted advocate
in identifying and responding to communal needs in hunger,
homelessness, illiteracy, family and domestic violence, prejudice,
and poverty. Serving as a lifeline for impoverished elderly,
needy families, near-poor individuals, recent immigrants, and
at-risk youth, the JCC of Canarsie provides food, comfort,
counseling, case management, transportation, and hope to more
than 7,000 clients each year.

service to the Southern Brooklyn community.

Recent News:
- Join us for the 10th Annual Canarsie Bridges Festival on Sunday, May 18 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. See the flyer for more details.
- On Sunday, May 4, we--along with our community partners and UJA-Federation of NY--hosted a unity festival in Starrett City. The afternoon was filled with free games, raffles, carnival rides, inflatable slides, refreshments, face painting, balloons, and a moveable museum from the American Museum of Natural History. - In the US, nearly one in four Holocaust survivors lives in Brooklyn. As the survivor population ages, their needs have steadily increased. We run several programs specifically designed for survivors, one of which was featured in the New York Daily News. .pdf available here.
